Frederick Henry Brunn (1878-1963) Annotated Baier's Compendium

Scope and Contents The collection contains four volumes of Baier's Compendium which are interleaved with blank pages. Many of those blank pages are annotated by Brunn. Two of the volumes, v.3, parts a and b, have "Fr. Brunn" and "Fr. Brunn, '99" on the fly leaf, respectively. Some of the annotations are in Gabelsberger shorthand. Since Brunn matriculated at Concordia Seminary in 1898, it is believed that his notes are from either Class III (1898-1899) or Class II (1899-1900) years. It is therefore surmised...

They were loaned to an artist who was painting portraits of the Concordia Seminary presidents for the Seminary's 150th anniversary. When they were returned there was no donor information with the items, but they appear to be a donation from the office of the Seminary president. A photograph in the Alfred O.
