Dry Cells (Ignition). KFUO (Ray-O-Vac)
These are two Ray-O-Vac No. 6 IGN ignition dry cells (1½ volts : 2½” diameter x 6” high) with two screw terminals on the top. [Second Copy: MAY 2013 #2 M80]
Fan. KFUO (Wagner Electric Company)
This is an electric fan (15” high) of black metal with grey metal trim on base. This model tilts and oscillates. A plate on the top of the motor identifies it as Wagner Electric Company of St. Louis (Type 5260, Model L294A522, Series P) with an attached frayed cord. An accompanying card identifies this as Walter A. Maier’s “Air-Conditioner” used in Studio C.

Glass. KFUO. (Glass Insulator, ?)
This is a ridged bell-shaped clear glass dome (6” diameter x 5½” high), possibly used on the KFUO tower as an electric insulator.
Headphones. KFUO
This is a pair of headphones with black metal earpieces, a metal casing with ports for 2 wires on each. It is etched with a lightning bolt inside a square inside a circle icon and with the inscription: “CONNECTICUT | 1000 | PATDEC311918” on the semicircular swivel section. There is an adjustable attachment to the headpiece, which is two sections covered in fabric.
Headphones. KFUO (Baldwin)
This is a set of headphones (Type C) with double headbands of cloth over metal. The earphones are black plastic / Bakelite and have “NATHANIEL BALDWIN SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH | PAT. MAY 10, 1910 | SEP. 14, 1915 | TYPE C” inscribed on the back. Adjustments are made by sliding up and down on a post. A fabric-covered cord attaches to a single prong "Western Electric Inst. Co." jack.
Headphones. KFUO (Western Electric)
This is a set of headphones, Model 509W. It has double headbands of cloth over metal, earphones of rubber on metal and has “MADE IN USA | WESTERN ELECTRIC | PAT IN USA JULY 23 1918 | 509W | 1100” etched into the back of the metal earphones. Adjustments are made by a turnscrew on a post and a fabric-covered cord attaches to a single prong jack.
Headphones. KFUO (Western Electric)
This is a set of headphones (Model ANB-H-I) with double headbands of cloth over metal. The earphones are black plastic / Bakelite and have "RECEIVER | ANB-H-I | Western Electric | MADE IN USA | D173120” inscribed on the back. A fabric-covered cord attaches to a single prong jack inscribed with: "BKLYN. METAL STMPG. CORP.".
Herman H. Hohenstein (1894-1961) Papers
The collection contains notebooks from his student days at Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, as well as some of Hohenstein's sermons, both from regular church services and from KFUO broadcasts.
