Scope and Contents
This is a Western Electric wall-mounted crank telephone encluded in a wooden box with black metal parts. The back is 8” x 11 1/4” and the box is 6” deep with a hinged front that is screwed shut. There is a crank on the right side, two bells and a Western Electric label on the front. There is a hole on the left side where a handset was apparently attached and holes drilled at each corner for attaching to the wall. There are four screw terminals on the bottom and wires to be connected to a battery that protrude from the back.
