Carolina Foehlinger Correspondence
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a letter written by Carolina Foehlinger on 22 June 1856 to the wife of Pastor Friedrich Koenig, Lafayette, Indiana, in which she comments on the cornerstone laying for the seminary building, particularly listing the wives of the pastors who were in attendance and conveying the greetings of Mrs. F. C. D. Wyneken to Mrs. Koenig.

Biographical / Historical
Carolina Foehlinger was the wife of Pastor Friedrich Wilhelm Foehlinger, a 1853 graduate of the Missouri Synod's practical seminary at Fort Wayne, Indiana. From 1853 until 1857 he served as assistant pastor at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne, under Pastor Wilhelm Sihler.
