This collection contains the original letter, a translation, and a letter from Gerecke describing the circumstances. Additional copies of letters and work reports were donated in March 2014.

Biographical / Historical

Gerecke was chaplain for prisoners at the Nuremberg Trials. An original letter signed by 21 Nazi defendants at the war crimes trials in Nuremberg is held in the vault. It asked Mrs. Gerecke to allow her husband to remain at Nuremberg until the end of the trial.
