James E. Fandrey was born April 15, 1951 (Saint Paul, Minnesota). He graduated from Concordia Teacher's College (Seward, Nebraska) in 1974, and enrolled at Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana). He graduated in 1980 and was ordained on June 15, 1980 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He served congregations in Nebraska, Minnesota, and Illinois, and served on the faculty at Concordia College (Seward, Nebraska). He was first Vice President of the Nebraska District from 1994-1997, and served on the Synodical Board of Directors.
