Biographical / Historical
Ernst J. H. Duever was born in Adams County, Nebraska on January 27, 1886. After attending Concordia College (Milwaukee), he graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1910. He served as pastor: Saint Peter (East Peoria, Illinois: 1910-1914), Saint John (Washburn, Illinois: 1914-1922), Saint Luke (Saint Louis, Missouri: 1922-1939), Trinity (Mount Hulda, Missouri: 1939-1944), Saint Paul (Sigel, Illinois: 1944-1948), and Orlando, Oklahoma (1948-1951). He married Lena Giebelhauser in 1912 and had two sons and nine daughters. He died November 15, 1964.
