The collection consists of a photo album of Diers's years as a student at Saint John College (Winfield, Kansas) in the early 1920s.

Biographical / Historical

Alvin C. Diers was born 31 January 1908 at La Grange, Texas, the son of George and Bertha (nee Brendel) Diers. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1931 and served as a missionary in China from 1931 to 1941. He later was pastor of congregations in Cypress-Neudorf, Galveston and McAllen, Texas. He was a member of the Sunday School Department of the Board for Parish Education of the Texas District in 1948-1952 and 1960-1964. He married Lillie Marcella Hollenberg, and they had one daughter, Barbara Ann. Diers died 28 April 1964 at McAllen, Texas and was bured there on 30 April.
