William H. Evers Scrapbooks
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of two scrapbooks documenting the history of the Missouri Synod and the Walther, Nieman and Evers families. The books include numerous original handwritten family documents, including confirmation certificates, naturalization papers, call documents and correspondence, as well as many newspaper clippings, photographs and printed materials.

Biographical / Historical
William H. Evers was the grandson of C. F. W. Walther and son-in-law of Pastor John H. Nieman, who was pastor for many years at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cleveland, Ohio. He married Pastor Nieman's daughter Ottilie. He worked as Cuyahoga County (Ohio) engineer.
