Biographical / Historical
Theodore Engelder war born on 21 January 1865 in Olean, New York. He attended both Concordia College, Fort Wayne, and Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, graduating in 1886. From 1903 to 1914 he served first as vice-president and then as president of the Michigan District. He then taught theology at Concordia Seminary, Springfield (1914 to 1926) and Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis (1926 to 1936). Engelder died in October of 1936.
