Scope and Contents
The collection contains mainly photocopies of general synodical correspondence, programs, etc., including some materials from the years of the synodical controversy in the 1970s. FEB 1993 #50 - Correspondence from 1973-1975, a lot of material on Christ Seminary - SEMINEX, Brochure/periodicals re: Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, Missouri).

Biographical / Historical
Carl A. Eberhard was born 16 November 1901 in Brooklyn, New York, the son of John and Katherine (nee Knapp) Eberhard. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1924. After brief service as a missionary in Waynesboro and Roanoke, Virginia, and at Calvary Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois, he became pastor of First/Concordia Lutheran Church, Louisville, Kentucky, which he served for the bulk of his ministry. He held various positions in the Central and Indiana districts and at the synodical level on the Board of Appeals and the Synodical Survey Commission. He was archivist of the Central and Indiana districts for many years. He died on 26 January 1985.
