Biographical / Historical
Theodor Buszin was likely born on 14 July 1834 in Klecko, near Gnesen, Posen, an area of present-day Poland that belonged to Germany at the time he lived. He studied at the Berlin Mission School in Germany. In January 1866 he immigrated to the United States with his wife, entering Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis to become a pastor of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Upon final examination in 1867 he received his first call to Saint John, Champaign City, Illinois. He served seven congregations in Illinois and Missouri before his death on 14 October 1892 while attending a synodical conference in Altenburg, Missouri. -Connie Seddon
