Biographical / Historical
William Dallmann was born on 22 December 1862 in Pomerania, Germany. After graduation from Concordia College, Fort Wayne, he graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1886. He served at Saint Paul Church in Webster County, Missouri, from 1886 to 1888, English Emmanuel Church in Baltimore from 1888 to 1898, Redeemer in New York City from 1898 to 1905, and Mount Olive in Milwaukee from 1905 to 1940. He was the editor of the "Lutheran Witness" from 1891 to 1895. He served as the president of the English Synod from 1899 to 1901. From 1901 until 1909 he served as the vice-president of the English Synod. He also served as the vice-president of the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of Missouri, Ohio, and other States from 1926 to 1932. Dallmann died on 2 February 1952.
