Biographical / Historical
Lester Bischoff was born on 24 September 1917 in Waverly, Iowa. After serving in the Armed forces during World War 2, Bischoff graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois in 1952. His first call was to a three-point parish in North Dakota, including the communities of Crosby, Wildrose, and Fortuna. He served congregations in Tolleyu, North Dakota; Highland, Illinois; a dual parish in Portage and Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin; and Glenbeuhlah, Wisconsin. In 1972, he began work as a chaplain in three institutions in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin. He retired in 1983, although he served several vacancies after his retirement. Lester Bischoff died on 4 November 2004.
