Biographical / Historical
C. H. Siegmund Buttermann was born September 12, 1819 in Weferlingen, Saxony, Germany. At some point he immigrated to the United States and was ordained and installed as the pastor in Chester, Illinois in 1849. He died only two months later (July 12, 1849) of Cholera. This information is contained on the Pastor Personal Record card at CHI.
