Biographical / Historical
Claus was born September 5, 1865 in Mittelfrohna, Saxony, Germany. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1886. Claus's stenographic notes on Walther's Lutherstunden served as one of the primary sources for the publication of "Law and Gospel." The notes are held in the Walther collection.
