Biographical / Historical
Beisel was born 26 April 1908 in Canisota, South Dakota. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary (Springfield, Illinois) in 1933 and served congregations in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. From 1954-1959 he served as Lutheran Student Pastor at the University of Minnesota, during which time he also taught at Concordia College (Saint Paul, Minnesota). In 1959, he was called as the President of Saint John College (Winfield, Kansas); the position he held until 1972. Beisel died 28 September 1989.
