Eduard Raimund Baierlein Catechism
Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a photostatic copy of Baierlein's translation of Luther's Small Catechism into the Chippewa (Ojibwa) language. The original is at Concordia Theological Seminary (Fort Wayne, Indiana).

(April 29, 1819–October 12, 1901). B. Sierakowski, Posen, Poland; d. Ger.; arrived Frankenmuth, Michigan, as missionary to Chippewa on June 10, 1847; worked among Chippewa (Station Bethany, Saint Louis, Michigan) 1847–53; left Bethany and became missionary to India in service of Leipzig* Ev. Luth. Mission; arrived Madras, India, December 17, 1853; worked at Sadras, Cuddalore, and Tranquebar; discontinued because of poor health 1886.
