Biographical / Historical
Martin Koehneke was born on 11 April 1916 in Dodge Center, Minnesota. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1939 and held parishes in Texas and Illinois. From 1949 to 1950 he served as the circuit visitor for the Texas District, and from 1950 to 1954 he was the counselor for Parish Education in the Texas District. In 1954 he became the president of Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois. From 1972 until his retirement in 1981, he was the senior vice-president of the Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL), North Wisconsin District. He died on 10 April 1995.
