Biographical / Historical

Rev. Daniel Bella , pastor of Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Byram, began serving the Slovak Lutherans who had immigrated and settled in Stamford on November 12, 1905. Trinity Lutheran Church was organized on April 7, 1907. Property was purchased for a church building on February 29, 1936. Rev. Milan Ontko began serving Trinity on August 5, 1947. Under his leadership, English services began, building plans for the church were drawn upand a call was extended to Candidate William P. Hinlicky. Rev. Hinlicky was then installed on September 7, 1952. Groundbreaking for the church building was held on November 27, 1952. The cornerstone was laid on May 31, 1953, and dedication took place on August 30, 1953.
