Scope and Contents
The collection is comprised mostly of Baepler's sermons, which are in German. There is also some correspondence, circuit information, writings, class notes, and a personal expense log.

Biographical / Historical
Andrew Baepler was born on 28 July 1850. He attended college at Concordia Fort Wayne and then went to the seminary in Saint Louis, graduating in 1874. After his ordination, he served congregations in Texas, Missouri, and Alabama from 1874 to 1882. He then became the traveling missionary for the Western District of the Synod. His outreach was to English-speaking congregations in Southern Missouri, Northwest Arkansas, and Southeastern Kansas. From 1884-1886 he taught at Saint Paul's College in Concordia, Missouri as its first professor. He then served as the President of Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana until 1894. He left Fort Wayne and moved to Little Rock, Arkansas to again become a missionary. In the Fall of 1899 he returned to Saint Paul's College, retiring there in 1925. He died on 10 October 1927.
