Association of Lutheran Development Executives (ALDE) Records

ALDE received its formal kickoff in Saint Louis on February 15-17, 1979, when 56 development officers, all affiliated with the Missouri Synod, elected an executive committee and charged them to draft a revised charter, submit it for survey approval, enroll members, and plan a 1980 convention.

Two earlier attempts to establish an organization of development executives along synodical lines with ties to a single synodical foundation were unsuccessful. Therefore, a revised charter was submitted to include membership across synodical lines and to relate to all Lutheran foundations. (from an ALDE report 02/11/80)
