Biographical / Historical
This congregation began in October 1949 as the result of a survey by Rev. A.A.G. Webbeking and Rev. H.W. Schmitt. The initial services were held at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building in Norwalk. At the end of 1949, property was purchased. The first service was held on October 16, 1949. Sunday School started the following Sunday, October 23, 1949. The first voter's meeting was held on January 7, 1950. On May 7, 1950, services began to be held in the Women's Club House. Groundbreaking for the church building took place on February 24, 1952. Dedication of the building followed on March 11, 1953. The Education Building was dedicated on May 17, 1959. The congregation became self-supporting on July 1, 1955.
