Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a biographical record of his life and career, an autobiographical sketch and a transcribed document titled "The Romance of the Daughters of Carl Eduard and Ida Marie Tuerschmann Kuehnert." The latter item provides significant Kuehnert family history.

Biographical / Historical
Harms was born 17 September 1933 near Lyons, Nebraska, the son of Pastor John Carl William Harms and Eva Ella Erna (Miller) Harms. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1958 and was commissioned a missionary to Japan in 1959, where he served until 1970. He was then pastor of Bethany Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas, from 1971 to 2001, when he retired.
