Biographical / Historical
In the late 1880s, Rev. Meyer from Kiowa was holding worship servics in the farm homes of the people living in this area. In March 1887, a congregation was organized with the name Immanuel Lutheran. A new church was built in 1899 and the first church building became the congregation's school house. The congregation disbanded in 1944 due to declining membership. The church and all its furnishings were sold to a Lutheran congregation in Central City, Nebraska. It was dismantled in sections and moved to its new location where it was rebuilt and again became a house of worship.
