The collection contains a call document sent to Klein from The Evangelical Lutheran Congregation in Sao Leopoldo in the State of Rio Grande Do Sul, sent in 1902, along with an English translation of the document.

Biographical / Historical
Henry Adam Klein was born on 17 February 1869 in Spring, Texas to Adam and Fredericka Klenk Klein. He attended the Missouri Synod preparatory school in New Orleans, Louisiana from 1883 to 1885. From 1885 to 1889 he attended Concordia College, Fort Wayne, Indiana. After he graduated from that institution, he entered Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, graduating in 1892, and was ordained in Chattanooga, Tennessee on August 7, 1892.
In 1903, he accepted a call to Sao Leopoldo in Brazil. In 1904, he moved to Estancia Velha, Brazil. In 1907, Klein returned to the United States, accepting a call to Wittenberg Missouri. In 1910 he took a call to Saint Joseph, Missouri, then to Collinsville, Illinois in 1915. In 1922, he was called as President and Professor of Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois.
He served as the 2nd vice-president of the Southern Illinois District from 1917 to 1920. He wrote one book, Sermons for the Home. He died on 21 December 1935 in Clarksville, Tennessee from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
