Biographical / Historical
At the request of Arndt Mammel, Rev. H. Timmke of the Iowa Synod came in 1907 and held divine services for the first time in the schoolhouse, Potsdame Township (Dickey Cty, North Dakota). The congregation was organized by Rev. Timmke and O. Bruntsch on September 7, 1907. Worship services were held regularly in the schoolhouse, but when it became too small the congregation decided to build a church building that was dedicated on October 12, 1913. Peace was accepted as a member of the LCMS on July 31, 1938. Prior to this, the congregation was part of the ALC. The English language was introduced into worship services beginning in 1942.
