Eldon Winker Papers

Rev. Eldon K. Winker was born on July 29, 1941 in Belleville, Illinois. He attended Belleville Junior College (Belleville, Illinois: 1959-1961), Concordia College (Milwaukee, Wisconsin: 1961-1963), and Concordia Senior College (Fort Wayne, Indiana: 1963-1965). He married Judith Lorene Beyer on August 19, 1967. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, Missouri) in 1969. He was ordained at Zion Lutheran Church (Belleville, Illinois) on June 22, 1969. He served congregations in Illinois, Arkansas, and Missouri. He served as the Executive Director of the LCMS Commission on Organizations from 1989-1994, and served as the Southern Illinois District Archivist from 1972-1973. Rev. Winker died on February 14, 2021.
