Biographical / Historical

In July 1955, Rev. Irwin E. M. Plueger accepted the call from the Atlantic District of the LCMS to begin work in Mahwah. The groundbreaking service for the worship and educational facilities was held on November 18, 1956. The first worship service was held on June 2, 1957 and a Christian Day School started with nursery and kindergarten that September. In April 1963, a fire started due to lightning. The fifteenth anniversary of the congregation was celebrated on June 3, 1973. The school closed in June 1967. The congregation closed in March 2018.
