Biographical / Historical
In 1963, Rev. Alva Pingel was instrumental in helping a small group of six families to make preliminary arrangements for the beginning of this congregation, a mission congregation of the LCMS. The first service was held on April 14, 1963, Easter Sunday, at the Ipswich Legion Hall. On January 14, 1964, the congregation purchased land for a building. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held on October 19, 1965. The first worship services were held in the new building on February 27, 1966. Dedication was held on April 24, 1966. In 1969, some changes were made to the interior of the building. The congregation closed on October 26, 2014.
