Biographical / Historical
Immanuel Lutheran Church was established in 1843 and joined the Buffalo Synod. The congregation joined the Missouri Synod in 1844 and in the midst of the Predestination Controversy left to join the newly established Ohio Synod in 1881. The exact history during the 20th century needs further research. The congregation is currently a member of the North American Lutheran Church. Reverend Carl Ludwig Geyer served as the pastor from his ordination (1844) until 1860. Reverend H. A. Allwardt served as the pastor from 1874-1910.
