Biographical / Historical
The Michigan District of the LCMS recognized there was tremendous growth in the Grand River District - Strathmoor, so the Mission Board felt this mission field should be explored. Rev. Walter E. Kutch was called to this mission field and ground was broken on November 25, 1925 for the erection of a bungalow chapel. The congregation was organized on March 28, 1926. Ground was broken for a church building on September 7, 1930, and the cornerstone was laid on October 12, 1930. The church building was dedicated on February 1, 1931. A school was also started. In 1949, ground was broken for a new church building. Ground was broken for a school building in 1957 and was dedicated in 1959. The congregation closed on March 8, 2015.
