Baden Family Collection
Scope and Contents
There are photos of the Lutheran seminary in Brazil as well as other related photos and materials. There is also Baden family materials. The Baden family had some prominence in Independence, Kansas. The family also has connections to Saint John College (Winfield, Kansas). There are too many photos to include individual descriptions here, but further processing of the collection may result in a list being added to the collection itself.

- 13 7/8 x 10 7/8 inches, Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) Graduating Class, 1878-1879?
- 14¼ x 11¾ inches [This appears to be a graduating class from Brazilian Seminary or a group photo of a church-wide or regional pastors assembly.] It contains a logo with the text, “Photographia de Germano Stumpf, Sao Leopoldo.”

Biographical / Historical
The donor’s wife, Ruth Pennekamp Baden, was the daughter of Rev. Pennekamp who was a missionary to Brazil. Much of the collection comes from that venue of service.
