Rolf at that time was visiting relatives in Carver County due to failing health. His congregation was near Columbus, Indiana. As he was about to return home he was asked to preach a sermon to the Saint Paul Lutherans. The service was in the Brandhorst home, six were present. Rev. Horst then served this group of Lutherans.
