Gotthold Viehweg was born on 13 October 1891 in Planitz, Saxony, Germany. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1914 and served congregations in Nebraska and Kansas before teaching at Concordia College, Austin, Texas. Viehweg died on 19 August 1977.
