Biographical / Historical
Verwiebe was born 1 February 1869 in Germany. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, Missouri, in 1893 and served congregations in Spokane and Endicott, Washington; Grangeville, Idaho; Saratoga Springs, New York; Baltimore, Maryland; and Buffalo, New York. He served several terms as president of the LCMS Eastern District. He died on 20 May 1938.
