Biographical / Historical
Uhlig was born February 20, 1885 at Detroit, Michigan, the son of Teacher Herman Daniel Uhlig and his wife, Johann Pauline nee Ahnert. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1909 and was ordained at Saint John Lutheran Church (Pinconning, Michigan) on August 8, 1909. Most of his ministry was spent in deaf mission work in Chicago, Illinois; Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Saint Louis; Jacksonville, Illinois; and Indianapolis, Indiana. He was also pastor in Shawano, Wisconsin, from 1927 to 1938. He died 27 June 1963.
