The collection was sent to CHI from the Lutheran School of Theology Book Center (Chicago, Illinois) on 29 November 2001. It may have come from Mark Bangert, whose father, Martin Bangert, was the first director of the Lutheran Chorus. A supplement was received in September 2011 from Martin Bangert.
