The collection contains materials used by Luebke as he wrote his dissertation. They deal with the general area of Southeastern Michigan Teachers Conferences. The title of the dissertation is "The Lutheran Teachers' Conference as a Means of In-Service Education". A preliminary inventory is available at CHI.

Biographical / Historical
Paul Luebke was a Lutheran educator in the Southeastern area of Michigan from 1947 to 1954. His career included graduation from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest in 1945 with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, a post at First Bethlehem Lutheran School in Chicago (1945 to 1947), a post at Bethany Lutheran School in Detroit (1947 to 1950), and work toward a Masters degree in Education (1947 to 1950). He received the degree in 1950 from Wayne State University in Detroit. He served as principal and teacher at Mount Calvary Lutheran School in Detroit from 1950 to 1954. In 1954 he moved to Saint Louis. He received his Doctor of Education degree in 1958. After receiving his doctorate he worked in Ankara, Turkey until 1962, when he left the teaching ministry of the Lutheran Church— Missouri Synod. He was an active member of the Southeastern Michigan Teachers Conference, the National Education Association, the Lutheran Education Association, and the Phi Delta Kappa honorary fraternity for men in education.
