Biographical / Historical
Louis Spitz was born on 31 July 1895 in Minden, Nebraska. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1918 and served congregations in Wyoming and Nebraska. He taught at Saint Paul College, Concordia Lissnuri and Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis). In 1930 he received his M.A. from Washington University (Saint Louis), and in 1943 he received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Spitz died on 8 January 1996.
