Biographical / Historical
John Sieck was born 7 January 1851 in Baltimore, Maryland, and baptized by E. G. W. Keyl. He attended Concordia College (Fort Wayne, Indiana) and Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) graduating in 1874. He served as pastor in Boston, Massachusetts, 1874-1879; Saint Paul Lutheran Church (Eden, New York), 1879-1883; and Saint Andrew Lutheran Church (Buffalo, New York), 1883-1927. He served on the Eastern District Mission Board for eighteen years and was editor of the "Missourier" of the Eastern District for twenty-five years. He died at Buffalo on 10 February 1927 and is buried at Eden, New York.
