Biographical / Historical
Claus (Klaus) Seuel was born 4 August 1842 at Uetersen, Schlewsig. After attending the Gymnasium at Fort Wayne, Indiana, he entered the theoretical seminary at Saint Louis in the fall of 1862 and completed his studies in June 1865. He was ordained and installed as pastor at Lyons, Iowa, on 23 September 1866 and later served parishes in Marysville (Town Herman), Portage City and Freistadt, Wisconsin. He died on 18 March 1914.
