Biographical / Historical
Ludwig Lips was born in 1831 in Krakau, Germany. He served as pastor, teacher, and choir director to German settlers in Germany beginning in 1867. In 1877 he came to America. He worked at Saint Luke Lutheran Church (Irving Park Boulevard and Greenview Avenue, Chicago, Illinois) in the parochial school as both teacher and choir director.
