Born 12 January 1851 (Baltimore, Maryland), son of J. C. W. Lindemann; educated at Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis, Missouri); pastor in Decorah, Iowa, 1874; Champaign, Illinois, 1875; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1878; Boston, Massachusetts, 1885; Fort Wayne, Indiana, 1890; and professor at the Evangelical Lutheran Teachers Seminary (Addison, Illinois), 1893-1907. Died 13 December 1907.
