Scope and Contents
The collection consists of a mimeographed copy of "Homiletik und Katechetik" with student notes and loose inserted notes from his time at Concordia Seminary. The book also bears the signature of his younger brother, Ernest F. Scaer.

Biographical / Historical
Scaer was born 26 October 1896 at Winfield, Kansas, the son of Prof. Charles and Hannah Mortock Scaer. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis, in 1920 and served as pastor at Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Chicago, and as a professor at the Luther Institute, Chicago, and Concordia College, River Forest, Illinois, until 1970. He died 23 August 1983 at Fort Wayne, Indiana, and is buried in Clearwater, Florida. He was survived by a son, Robert, and a daughter, Marguerite Pond.
