Scope and Contents
The collection contains correspondence observing Salvner's 25th anniversary, class notes, an annotated book on sign language and the originals of a service manual for pastor's to the deaf. A second accession includes diaries and financial records. MAR 2012 #10 - Ephphatha Book of Forms

Biographical / Historical
John Salvner was born on 17 October 1876 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1901 and served at Grace Lutheran Church for the Deaf in Minneapolis, Minnesota from 1901 until 1958. He also served the synod as the executive secretary of the Board for Missions to the Deaf from 1943 unitl 1958. Salvner died on 19 November 1960.
