The collection contains a picture of C.F.W. Walther, some notes, and a bound volume of "Der Lutheraner" which was handed down from C.F.W. Walther.

Biographical / Historical
Clemonce Sabourin was born on October 6,1910 in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 1935, he graduated from Immanuel Lutheran College and Seminary, Greensboro, North Carolina, and in 1939, from Johnson C. Smith University, Charlotte, North Carolina. In 1963, he received the Doctor of Laws honoris causa from Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, Indiana. In 1944, he became pastor of Mount Zion Lutheran Church, in Manhattan. Under his leadership, the congregation founded The School on the Hill in 1947. Dr. Sabourin served the school as director and the congregation as pastor until his retirement in 1976. He also served as the first black director of the LCMS - Atlantic District. He died on 3 October 1991.
