Biographical / Historical
Walter A. Resner was born on June 28, 1926 in Wilson, Kansas. He attended Saint John College in Winfield Kansas and received a B.A. from Concordia Seminary in 1949. Since he got married in 1950, he was not permitted to attend his final year at the Seminary in Saint Louis, so he enrolled in Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois where he graduated in 1952. He served as Assistant Pastor of Saint Paul Lutheran in Sioux City, Iowa for one year, and then as Pastor of First Lutheran Church in Kingsley, Iowa until his retirement in 1988. He died March 11, 2013.
