Biographical / Historical
Plehn was born 4 October 1889 at Toledo, Ohio, the son of John Paul Plehn, a teacher, and his wife, Helma nee Glaser. He graduated from Concordia Seminary (Saint Louis) in 1912 and was ordained at Trinity Lutheran Church (Toledo, Ohio) on 21 July 1912. He served parishes in Dirt Hills and Blue Hills, Saskatchewan; Wauseon, Ohio; Battle Creek, Michigan (as a camp pastor in 1917); Buffalo, New York; Waynesboro, Virginia; and Rochester, New York. He held several positions in the English and Eastern districts and contributed to various synodical publications. He retired in 1964 and died on 14 October 1983.
