Scope and Contents
The collection contains manuscripts for the "Michigan Lutheran" and the "Detroit Lutheran". A later accession (2009-10-01) contains one piece of correspondence and his wedding announcement.

Biographical / Historical
Gilbert Otte was born on 12 May 1900 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Saint Louis in 1923 and served congregations in Bellaire and Locust Manor, New York, and Detroit, Michigan. He also served as the circuit counselor for the Michigan District and as its fourth vice-president (1970). He died on 28 September 1983.
